Current Work
September, 2025: The Eaton Fire continues to impact my art and outlook. Work presented in this gallery is almost everything I have made since January of this year. I see a couple of different bodies of work evolving here, with respect to my use of media and the subject matter I am investigating.
As I reviewed this gallery I thought, perhaps, it's too eclectic. But I also see it's bursting with energy, pattern, color and experimentation. This is where I want to be. I am proud to find myself at this point in my art life, given what I lost at the beginning of the year.
I hope you see: my love of gardens and a delight in objects. Objects we find in the natural world, such as a stone that catches our eye so we pick it up and slip it into our pocket. And, objects from the worlds we build and inherit-- that is domestic items, such as pitchers and vases. I've always loved the pitchers I inherited from my parents, grandparents and in-laws. I've always loved seeing similar items in museums. We, people, have always needed to carry water, share wine and break bread with one another.
These simple forms ground me while the world spins. I hope you find work here to delight in and to live with. I appreciate questions and comments. You can buy work directly from the website but if you're not a PayPal user, that's OK, get in touch, we can make other arrangements! Thanks!
