Lace was on view in the “Remains” exhibit held at the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo, during the 39th Sarajevo Winter Arts Festival, February 7 - 14, 2023.

This is the wall text I wrote to accompany the work:

As I send this work onward to Sarajevo, from California, I hope the presence of my hand -the actions I took in making this artwork- remains. I hope viewers see it and remember the feeling of crumpling, hole punching, or smoothing out a wrinkled page. Perhaps the idea of saving something, valuing something which might otherwise be discarded, will resonate with viewers. Torn, crumbling, and flimsy can also be beautiful, delicate and enduring. Attention, savoring, adornment, craft and tenderness can remain.
