I think I did this drawing after watching far too much vening news and listening to news on the radio. Rocks bring me back to the centrality of living. Slow and steady-- geologic time is incomprehensible and grounding. One of my favorite memories, in recent years, is from a hike I did with my husband and children, in Bishop, CA. We got to a summit, and I lay down on an expanse of granite. That feeling of baking in the heat, my body thrumming as my heart rate slowed and my muscles relaxed, that was glorious.
