Drawings: Works on Paper
This piece was completed for an Artnauts exhibition titled, Thus Far taking place at UV Arts in Derry/Londonderry and at Platform Arts in Belfast, Northern Ireland in June, 2024.
The Artnauts is an artist collective that uses the visual arts as a tool for addressing global issues, while connecting with artists from around the world. We write wall text to accompany our work to facilitate connection. The following is my statement for the Thus Far exhibition:
We set boundaries, lines that cannot be crossed. We are told each moment contains a possibility for us to reset. We can take a breath, move forward, onward. We can and we do and still our history comes with us. It undergirds our now. It is foundational but it is not fixed. Lines can be erased and boundaries redrawn.
